Leica M9 – The decisive moment

This post may appear off topic as this is a magazine about photography and not about photo gear.

But the new Leica M9 is not just a camera. The Leica M is the camera that enabled for decades many famous reportage photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson to capture the decisive moment. The M9 seems to be the perfect adaptation of the magic rangefinder concept into the digital age. An impressive 18 Megapixel full-frame sensor built into a very compact, rock solid and retro styled body. The simple and intuitive handling of the M9 concentrates on the essentials of photography – compared to those feature overloaded monsters of japanese camera manufactures.

I really can’t wait to get one in my hand.. definitely a wanna-have tool for any photographer. But take care: the handling of the camera, the feeling and sound of the shutter and the quality of the razor-sharp and contrasty images of a Leica M can be highly addictive.

  1. I can’t comprehend why you don’t have more people commenting on your blog. I really like what you have to say and intend to comment more often.
